Thank you Sue for a lovely two week family summer break at Ty’n Rhyd. This was a perfect base for us to get easy access to the beaches we know and love, having visited the Aberdaron area many times previously. The local lanes were quiet for cycling and we also enjoyed a day trip to Coed-y-Brenin with bikes . The Llyn never fails to delight and we were lucky with the weather too. Ty’n Rhyd is a lovely, homely, spacious and comfortable cottage. The garden is great, as are the views from the conservatory. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the change of scene and hope to return again sometime in the future.
Great Family Holiday
The Llyn Peninsula was new to all of us, and I can thoroughly recommend it for a great family holiday. It has some fantastic beaches and interesting wildlife. The cottage was ideal for our needs. Our 7 year old grandson said the best part of the holiday inside was his bed! He liked being upstairs with his twin sister away from the grown-ups. We all found it very comfortable and well-equipped and would love to return.
We loved Tyn Rhyd and the peace and seclusion it offered. The property was stocked with all you could hope for in a holiday cottage, and was ideally placed; being in a secluded spot, yet close enough for Aberdaron to be accessible. The cottage was very comfortable, and being so close to the stunning Porth Ysgo was an absolute bonus!
Beautiful Local Beaches
Thank you so much. Just what we needed me, my daughter and 14 year old grand daughter. Very comfy house, beautiful local beaches, pretty countryside. A mixed week weather wise, wild wind and some rain, glorious hot sun on other days all added to our pleasure. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks.
Superb Spacious Cottage
We stayed in this excellent, fully-equipped cottage in September 2020 and would definitely consider returning. It has all the amenities necessary for a holiday base. We particularly loved the south(ish) facing huge sunroom which was perfect to relax in after a day exploring and hiking the Llyn Peninsula. Sue provides really comprehensive information beforehand about the cottage and the Peninsula, enabling you to research places to see and visit. We were blessed with generally good weather and the night sky was spectacular on a couple of evenings (no light pollution). The cottage is peaceful and secluded but a great base for exploring.

Taking In The Milky Way
The cottage provides excellent accommodation and a well placed base to explore the west of the peninsula. The peace and quiet of the area particularly at night is blissful. We have taken several bike rides in very good weather and a long walk around the headland in the rain! The area is quite stunning. As a keen stargazer I was delighted to discover how dark the night skies are here, an invaluable and increasingly rare asset in Britain. I spent a late night taking in the Milky Way, the comet and generally one of the best views of the sky I have ever enjoyed in the UK. We would indeed like to return some time and would certainly recommend the place to anyone seeking a very good holiday home.
Wonderful Family Holiday
The cottage certainly lived up to our expectations. It is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. We were a family of six, four adults and two small children and it was perfect. Big comfy sofas and a great stove in the kitchen/sitting room, but also two other sitting areas, so plenty of room for everyone. Very quiet and peaceful with a lovely garden. We look forward to returning – thank you.
An Oasis for Relaxation
An Oasis for relaxation As a family of three we stayed at the cottage for a short break and enjoyed every minute. We have stayed in many holiday rentals and this features as one of the best. The location is wonderful, and the cottage itself is well-equipped, clean, clearly well maintained and looked after. We will certainly stay again.
We Will Be Back
Thank you for a lovely stay. It has been great, beautiful cottage and brilliant location. Mum and Dad had a great time. We all really enjoyed Whistling Sands, especially the children. We will be back!
Would Love to Visit Again
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. Very spacious, loved the garden and views. Beautiful beaches in the surrounding area to visit. Would love to visit again.
A lovely place to stay with surrounding fields and a lovely garden to enjoy the sun. The cottage was amazing! Great size bedrooms and spoilt for choice to what room to sit in! Settled in really well, would have loved to stay longer.
Really Top Quality
Fantastic accommodation in a lovely spot. Really lovely, clean and cosy. Couldn’t fault it in any way. Excellent experience all round, can’t recommend it highly enough. Thanks very much.
A beautiful property, sumptuously decorated and very comfortable. Lovely visit to the area after 18 years. Fabulous views and close beaches made walking a joy. House had everything and more, and it was wonderful to sit in the expansive garden enjoying fresh sea air. We will definitely return to enjoy it again.
Characterful, Cosy and Comfortable Cottage
Loved our Easter stay at this gorgeous cottage, which is well-equipped, clean and spacious. It has so many inviting places to relax, including the second sitting room and sunny conservatory, it was a dilemma to choose! We walked down to the nearby beach at some point each day, which was usually deserted. Ideal location for exploring the Aberdaron and Abersoch area. Highly recommend this cottage for a holiday on the Llyn Peninsula.
